Small neighborhood-based NPOs with very tight budgets might consider adding a line item they shy away from -- namely, several productive hours of carefully chosen consulting services to assist them either in general or on a specific project. If you’ve never tried it, are unsure if it’s worth the expense, or don’t know any consultants suitable for your program, here’s an opportunity for you if you’re in the Chicago metro area.

On Monday, November 19, at Tutor/Mentor Institute’s Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conference, we will offer an opportunity for you to  meet one-on-one, free of charge, for a half-hour session with a marketing/publicity/special events consultant. And that consultant is me, Mary Gerace. My firm, Mary Gerace Enterprises, is a 10-year-old Chicago company specializing in marketing, publicity, events and in-kind donation solicitation for small nonprofits with modest budgets and small staffs. It’s my privilege to “give back” to my community, and I consider inner city youth mentoring essential to our democracy's success. Visit me at www.marygerace.net.
