$4 billion in election dollars. Where does it go?

Rev. Romal J. Tune wrote this article on the Huffington Post saying that "close to $4 billion will be spent during the mid-term elections on ads and millions more on other campaign expenses."

That's $4 billion or more every two years! Every election cycle!

Instead of expecting the politicians and state and federal government to do something to help us pay to improve learning opportunities and create mentoring/tutoring programs in non-school hours, why not try to motivate the people who get this $4 billion to become our supporters?
